Network Faq's

 NETWORK INTRODUCTION

         With so many students using computers for homework, and more adults working from home or using PCs for day-to-day planning, it’s hardly surprising many families have more than one computer.

          However, what many of these households fail to realise is that it’s a relatively painless procedure to link different computers to form a network.

        A peer-to-peer network is a simple network of two or more computers. As long as you have Windows 2000/XP-based computers you can create a simple peer-to-peer network with a minimum amount of work, time and additional hardware.

There is a lot to be gained from linking your computers together in a network. For example, you can:

  • Share one printer between several PCs;

  • Back up files from one computer onto another in case one PC crashes;

  • Access files or folders on one computer from another computer;

  • Play multiple-player games on your network;

  • Connect more than one PC to the Internet via one connection;

  • Save information to one location, from any computer in the home.
