I
just updated my memory
from 128 to 512 and I kept the old memory
in as I have 2 slots and its now not recognizing my old memory
it may be because it can only take 512 memory
but is there any way around this?
Norton Utilities has found a problem with one of the memory
chips on my PC. (it doesn't appear to say which) Anyone know whether Windows
marks bad memory
and avoids it like bad sectors on a hard drive?...or do I have to take out
each RAM module in turn to see which is defective?
When I insert my memory
stick in the Sony reader I get a pop-up window where windows ask what action
to take. The window pops up but if I tick on to perform a action the window
goes blank. I tried it manually but the same problem. It was working before. I
have XP-home. Now I have to go to my computer and open the memory-stick
manually
I have been told
I have a memory
leak which is causing probs viewing web pages etc. I have win me, ie6 and
use aol. What is this and can I get a fix for it.
I am running windows ME with a 1 gig processor and 384 meg
of ram.
I have a lot of stuff running in the background zone alarm go back cyber
patrol etc but when I boot I still have a healthy 73% free . the problem is
over a period of few hours the memory
seems to drain away -sometimes to zero this also happens when there are no
programmes running.
I have tried selective startup to try and identify the main suspects to no
avail
i have also tried to manually set the virtual memory
to 1 and 1/2 , yet something still drains the memory
Can anybody suggest a reason and/or cure
I just installed a 512 MB module SDRAM 169 pin 133 CL2 - - the computer has two slots and there is a similar 128 MB in the other slot. The prob is that the system has become a little unstable with a few weird errors - blue screen and a windows error during a game and a few video problems at startup - like windows not opening properly first time. This is actually worse when i kept the spare 256 MB in instead of the 128 MB. I also got an error saying that there was not enough memory to run NV clock - but the system says everything is fine and detects the memory okay.
Are there any good utilities out there to give a full memory test and what else might be causing the prob - the motherboard def supports two 512 MB
SDRAM. I'm running windows ME
My question is what DDR speed should I get. I remember when I bought my first 256MB that the guy helping me said that a certain speed was all that I need. Anything faster would go to waste on my system.
I have an AMD 1800, with at Albatron KT400-8x board. I really don't feel like opening my system up or looking through tons of receipts.
Is there any software that will help to diagnose the memory speed?
I have a bad memory module. I am trying to find the manufacturer of the memory. Seeing if I can get a replacement. but I don't remember where I got it. I buy so much of it. It looks to me as if the markings on the sticker are ATA. Gold sticker that says memory with the ATA on it. If you have any websites that would be
helpful in locating the vendor it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a mother board from Gigabyte and it says is
doesn't support DDR. The computer store were I bought it says it does but they have to set some jumper settings. Is this true
