Can
I fit my old hard drive from an old "AT" model case into an old
"atx" case. I tried it but the hard drive led just stays on .... and
it does not seem to recognize it
Have read an
article about monitor not working. I have the same problem but my machine will
not boot. Using XP and everything was fine up until 3 days ago. When i switch my
machine on the lights on one of my cd-drives comes on, but the system them
freezes. Monitor stays on standby, and i can't even get into the bios. Have
reset the cmos checked all cables and connections and even tried another
monitor. How can I get my machine working again..?
I was able to format my hard disc
no problem when I had windows 98 , but how do I go about doing it to win xp
professional, do I still press f8 at start up or what?
I have a Pentium 4, 1.5Ghz
running Windows ME. When I attempt to defrag the C Drive using either Norton
Utilities or windows own defrag program I get the following error message "
Windows cannot defrag this drive because it has been locked by a disc utility,
and generates an error code DEFRAG00105. I have checked the startup and win.ini
and in my limited experience can find no utilities running or anything untoward.
In all other operations the hard drive (c) works fine. Is there any help or
advice?
I am using Win XP and over the
last 2 days I have shut down the computer, as usual, switched my monitor off, as
usual and all is quiet. But after about 20 minutes my tower switches itself back
on.
I have NOT changed any settings
in respect of the PC.
